Each suite with its own personality...
Luxury boutique accommodation doesn’t get any better than at Casa Ellul, a truly stunning and intimate hotel in the heart of Valletta. In this beautiful Maltese hotel, there are nine sumptuous suites to choose from, each with its own unique personality.
Suite 1 – Deluxe Suite
This exquisitely designed suite has replaced what was formerly the kitchen of the grand Ellul family home. The rich soft furnishings in this room are warm and welcoming. The luxurious Capri king size bed coupled with the signature bed linen is destined to provide you with the most delightful night’s sleep. Complementing this room is an inimitable orange coloured glazed partition that leads to a spacious walk in shower/wet room. This peaceful ground floor room has pretty courtyard views and is wheelchair accessible.
Suite 2 – Twin Deluxe Suite
A quiet twin deluxe suite, which can be converted into a king size bed, has both bath and shower ensuite facilities. Two beautiful Bovary armchairs lie within the most spectacular of marble bathrooms whilst the bedroom floor is inlayed with the most expertly restored Maltese floor tiles. The room has charming courtyard views from the balconies and enjoys lavish signature bed linen. Modern design and history meet to provide a charming suite for you to enjoy.
Suite 3 – Junior Suite
The fresh and bright junior suite is furnished with a king size bed and exquisite ensuite bath and shower room. A striking wallpaper, custom made for this suite, adorns the mosaic-cladded shower and basin cubicle that highlights Valletta’s breath-taking roof tops. This suite’s pièce de résistanceis the amazing view of the Carmelite Church from the comfort of the bath, whilst looking out of the traditional Maltese wooden balcony. The beautiful lounge with equally impressive views is just the perfect spot to curl up to watch a movie or read a book after a day of sightseeing. This is the perfect suite for those who appreciate history and architecture and want to soak up Valletta’s unique skyline. The views and the calming colour schemes here truly make it a home away from home.
Suite 4 – Twin Deluxe Suite
An incredibly spacious and peaceful twin suite, which is again convertible into a king size bed. The suite enjoys high ceilings and superbly restored Maltese original floor tiles. Yet another beautiful panoramic wall paper drapes the walls of the ensuite shower. The suite has enchanting courtyard views from the balconies. This room is ideal for families or groups of friends as it has the option of being interconnected with suite 5.
Suite 5 – The Piano Nobile Suite
This resplendent suite is part of the palazzo’s “piano nobile”. It gives guests a king size bed to enjoy, which is embellished with a stunning wrought iron headrest; behind which sits the original fireplace. This room also has the advantage of the most beautifully situated bath tub placed upon the traditional Maltese balcony to take full advantage of the exclusive view of the Carmelite Church, standing only metres away.
Fabulous views of Valletta’s Old Theatre Street can also be soaked up from this impressive suite.
The Piano Nobile suite is naturally well lit due to the most spectacular tall windows complimented by the soaring ceilings. The suite gets its name from the piano that is one of the original pieces that adorned the house in its previous life as a family home. This suite truly oozes glamour and elegance and with its mix of music, history and design it is a suite fit for a connoisseur of the finer things in life.
Suite 6 – Deluxe Suite with view from the terrace
Located on the top floor of the newly constructed duplex suite, it does not form part of the original house. In contrast to the lower suites, you will find that a contemporary finish and a minimalist style has been adopted except for a striking piece of art depicting Senglea as seen from Valletta above the bed. The terrace offers the most eye-catching views of the harbour and the crumbling rooftops of Valletta. The perfectly framed view of the imposing dome of Our Lady of Carmel in the other direction is equally amazing.
Suite 7 – Duplex with view from the terrace and hot tub
Suite 7 has been built on the former roof of the original family home. The brand-new suite boasts wonderful panoramic views. Our guests can enjoy these views from their own private terrace, which also has a jacuzzi. This suite again has a very contemporary finish as the design palate utilises modern materials to complement the rooftop views of old Valletta. A view to be soaked up over breakfast on the terrace or from the hot tub with a glass or two as the sun sets.
Suite 8 – Executive Suite with view from the terrace and hot tub
This contemporary suite is also set on the top floor on what was the roof of the old house. The feel is modern and minimalist to provide a contrast to the view over the historical rooftops of Valletta. The private terrace and hot tub provide you with stunning views of the Carmelite Church facade and cupola. Yet another gorgeous view to be enjoyed from the privacy of your terrace and hot tub as the sunrises and well after the sunsets too.
Suite 9 – Old Theatre Suite
Located on the first floor this individual suite is the latest addition to the old house. A majestic fusion of both the original charm of the house and the cosmopolitan feel of the new Valletta. The suite retains a link to the history on its doorstep; as it shares its name with the street that Casa Ellul resides on. Suite 9 faces Valetta’s iconic Basilica of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, and from the balcony there are views of the famous Grand Harbour. The style and elegance of the hotel continues in its newest addition with a beautiful bedroom enjoying the comfort of a king-sized bed and an opulent shower room that makes this new suite even more desirable.
Casa Ellul marries together all that makes Valletta what it is and what it is to become, classic and contemporary in the same breath. We look forward to welcoming you to your signature suite.
