Earth Garden 2022
2nd-5th June – Ta’ Qali
The alternative festival Earth Garden returns as a free-admission festival this year. It is known for bringing the biggest and most up-and-coming non-mainstream acts to the fields. This year is no different, with the line-up including artists such as Panda Dub, Horse Meat Disco, Nicky Bomba, Tribali and Opal Ocean, to name but a few.
The AMP Lost & Found Festival 2022
1st-4th June – Cafe del Mar, St Paul’s Bay
Lost & Found Festival is back for its sixth year. The festival features an eclectic lineup of drum and bass, garage, house, techno and grime, and is known as the go-to dance festival for dance fans from around the world. The lineup includes high-profile names such as Annie Mac, The Blessed Madonna, Katy B and Gorgon City.
RITMU Festival 2022
10th & 11th June – Upper Barrakka Gardens, Valletta
Previously known as Ghanafest, RITMU Festival will feature traditional Maltese music, culture and foods. The free-admission festival will treat festival goers to two jam-packed nights filled with għana (a type of traditional Maltese folk music), folk, local artisans and more.
Victoria International Arts Festival 2022
10th June-11th July – Victoria, Gozo
Victoria International Arts Festival (VIAF) is a festival of orchestral, choral and chamber music. Gozo’s capital joins other European cities to offer free, high-quality concerts to classical music fans from around the world.
ABODE on the Rock 2022
16th-26th June – Gozo
Popular London promoters ABODE are back with their festival in Gozo. It is an electronic music festival with a twist, as in addition to the music, you can expect nice beaches, sunshine and boat parties. The lineup includes Jamie Jones, Waff and Alan Fitzpatrick.
Malta International Wine Festival 2022
23rd-26th June – Argotti Gardens, Valletta
Calling all wine lovers! This festival showcases Malta’s top wines, and enables newcomers to learn all about the art of wine tasting. Moreover, festival-goers can order wine by glass or bottle from over 10 international winemakers offering over 200 award-winning wines.
Malta International Arts Festival 2022
18th June-3rd July
The Malta International Arts Festival takes place at various venues on the islands and celebrates the best of the local art scene. The festival’s events programme is very diverse and includes everything from contemporary dance to interactive theatre. Definitely not one to miss!
Rock The South Malta 2022
8th-10th July – Zion Bar & Restaurant, Marsascala
Rock The South has become a staple of Malta’s alternative music scene. The jam-packed weekend features a healthy mix of local and foreign alternative acts that will delight the ears of alt music lovers. Ex-Sepultura drummer Iggor Cavalera headlines this year’s festival, performing an experimental modular set.
Malta Jazz Festival 2022
11th July-16th July – Valletta
The Malta Jazz Festival is internationally regarded as a beacon of authentic jazz music. Now in its 32nd edition, the Malta Jazz Festival boasts an eclectic lineup featuring John Scofield « Yankee Go Home », Richard Bona & Alfredo Rodriguez sextet, Joel Ross « Good Vibes », Danny Grissett Trio, Francesco Ciniglio « The Locomotive Suite » and more.
Isle of MTV Malta 2022
19th July – Granaries, Floriana
Isle of MTV is one of Europe’s largest free-admission pop music festivals. More than 50,000 pop music fans attend this festival every year, and this year promises to be as packed as ever. DJ Marshmello and French Montana were revealed as two of the acts joining this year’s lineup, with other acts expected to be announced in the next few weeks.
