Matilda The Musical
Malta Conference Centre, April 16 – April 30
The award-winning musical adapted from Roald Dahl’s famous novel is finally coming to Malta. After its premiere at the Royal Shakespeare Company in Stratford-upon-Avon in November 2010, the musical moved to the West End, where it continues to delight audiences to this day.
Organised by the Masquerade Theatre Company, this musical is bound to be a sell-out, so reserve a seat as soon as possible!
Malta International Fireworks Festival
Valletta, Mellieha, Gozo, Marsascala & Mqabba, April 20 – April 30
The 21st edition of the Malta International Fireworks Festival is taking place in different localities around Malta and Gozo this April. Every night will offer a wonderful display of fireworks that truly showcases the skills of those involved in the pyrotechnic industry. This year’s theme is “A Night with Legends”. Therefore, the festival will honour the legendary musicians who have passed away.
Valletta Green Festival
Valletta, April 28 – May 1
Valletta Green Festival aims to educate visitors about recycling, biodiversity, and conservation of natural resources.
The festival’s main attraction is a 500-square-metre plant frog, made of 50,000 herbs and plants. In addition to being a stunning attraction, it will be serve as a commentary on Malta’s only amphibian, the Painted Frog.
Intersport La Valette Marathon
Valletta, April 24
Runners rejoice! The La Valette Malta Marathon is taking place this spring. Officially recognised by the Association of International Marathons, Valletta’s marathon will include a full marathon, a half marathon and a walkathon. If you’ve never been to Malta, it’s an excellent way to get to know the island. This is because the route will pass through some of the most picturesque areas of Malta, including Valletta, Sliema and the Three Cities.
From the Beatles to U2
Mediterranean Conference Centre, May 7
The Gozo Youth Orchestra will perform some classic hits from the Beatles and U2 at Valletta’s MCC. The orchestra will be joined by Gozo’s finest Cash & Band and some of Malta’s top singers who will reinterpret these musical hits. So if you are a fan of rock music or these two particular bands, this event should definitely be at the top of your list!
